In fact, Garner is something of a shopping mecca, with major centers like White Oak Crossing, Forest Hills Shopping Center, and Garner Towne Square offering a plethora of restaurants and retailers. You’ll find even more businesses, local restaurants, and large retailers situated along US-401 and at the 40/42 Exchange in south Garner near Clayton.

Public Education

Garner is served by Wake County Public Schools and Johnston County Public Schools. Garner schools belonging to Wake County Public Schools include eight elementary schools, East Garner Middle, North Garner Middle, and Garner High School. Johnston County schools include Polenta Elementary and West View Elementary.

Employment

With a prime location just south of Raleigh, Garner enjoys easy access to some of its largest employers, including IBM, WakeMed Health, NC State University, Cisco Systems, Rex Healthcare, SAS, and GlaxoSmithKline. However, Garner is also home to several of its own top employers, including Wake county Public Schools, Pergo, The Hamlin Companies, Walmart, LL Van Electric, and Ultratech Industries.
